The Right Stock and the Right Time

Greg has been doing his research a found a rebounding company named Hauppauge, HAUP. I, Devin Hutchings, bought the stock at 2.43 per share. The earnings report came out the day before and it was super positive, but for some reason the stock didn't shoot up. It was down like 5%, so I bought it hoping that it might go up. The next day haup shot up to 30%. For me that is a lot and I sold my shares. I made a good 25% because i sold a little early, but that is still really good. That makes me up 57% since April. Not bad!!!! Three more percent I will reach my goal for the year in 5 months. This means that there is a possibility of making 120% in a year. My new goal is 100% by April 2011.

Netflix

Netflix went all the way down to $99 per share! I bought it at $103. The reason why netflix went down was that they didn't meet all their goals for the quarter. But they still made big money!! So i knew it would go back up within weeks. Sure enough after a week the stock went up to $113 and i sold it. I made another 6% which puts me up 32% since April. After I sold netflix I bought a stock called ADAM. They are a good company, but super risky stock. I will let you know what happens later.

Big losses lead to Big gains

I bought BXC at 3.25 about a month ago. After I bought it it did very well, but my vacation prevented me in selling the stock, so I had to hold onto it. After my vacation the whole market crashed. Greg and I saw it coming because of the news and fundamentals of the market. I decided to wait it out because I knew that BXC has the potential to come back quickly from losses. The stock dropped all the way to 2.60. But then this week a company bought out BXC and the stock price grew 40% and I sold it at $3.65. That gave me a 7% profit, which puts me at an overall 25% gain since April. Goal=20% Actual=%25. This means i am ahead of our goal of 5% a month. I will continue to try to exceed the goal and buy a stock next week. All the stocks are up right now, so i am going to wait for a good down day to get back in.

Patience Prevails

After I bought bxc at $3.42 the market had a solid week of big downs. One day the market went down 2%. Bxc dropped all the way to $3. I knew that I had to wait it out, because I knew I bought bxc at a good low price and that the stock can't go down lower than 3$. The last three days the stock made a big turn around. Today I sold BXC at $3.62 giving me a profit of 5%. Now I will take the weekend and next week to find the next stock to buy. I am going to look for a day where the market is down a lot. I think that next week we will see another super low day where most stocks are down between 5 and 10%.

Tuesday, June 1, 2010

On Friday I sold MPG at $3.03. I made a solid 13%!!! Today has presented a perfect time to buy more stocks. I bought BXC at $3.42. It was down 8%, and I knew that it most likey will go back up to break even. I plan on making 10% by friday, but our plan id 5%. So anywhere above 5% is good. Greg bought PMI, which is going to be huge one day, at $4.20, which was down between 9 and 12%. We are planning to make some big money by Friday. I have a feeling that June is going to be an up month in the overall market. So we will take advantages at any down stocks.

On Tuesday I bought MPG at $2.62. Yesterday it ended at $2.72, and Today it is at $2.93! That means I made about 12%. The bad news is that I bought the stock quickly by using unsettled funds. Which means I can't sell my stock until tomorrow. Hopefully by tomorrow it will be the same or even higher.

Sold and new Buy

Devin: my stock NLS was not doing as well as I thought. After a week I lost about 2%. These last weeks have been tough, but no excuse to lose money. I noticed a certain stock that was getting hit hard constantly. Some days it was down between 12% and 5%. I sold my NLS stock and bought MPG at a low point. The next day I made 13%. I would have sold it and made a big profit, but since I used unsettle funds, I have to wait until Friday to sell. Its okay, because I believe that the s=market will go up a little, and this stock will go up.

Greg is doing well. He invested in RDCM, which doesn't follow the general market. Today it went up as much as 20%.
